A role call vote was taken and the results were 18 votes for Lake Champlain; 4 votes for Lake George; and 2 abstentions.
Executive Officer Forest Honeywell stated that juniors Nicholas Goebel and Joe Morse recently competed in the TBF Junior National Championship in Arkansas in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup. He indicated that Joe finished first in the 15-18 age group and Nicholas was third in the 11-14 age group. He also said the event was very professionally held with each youth fishing with a professional and being brought up on stage for the weigh-ins. Forest also asked that the $500 donated by the Federation to the youth for the event be taken from the General Fund. There were no objections to this request.
President Going stated that the Board is looking into a new scale system that will help automate/speed up the weigh-in/payout process. He stated the Board has contacted the TBF to see what types of systems are available and the costs of such systems. Tony indicated that the Federation has two other scales that could be sold. He also stated that monies collected from the sales of various items (trolling motors/gps units/rods/etc.) would go towards the purchase of the new system.
Secretary Bruce Stovall talked about the Reel to Reel magazine and stated he had advertisement flyers. He mentioned that the ad prices on the flyers are from last year, and probably would not change but has not yet confirmed this with Mike Kozub. The ads need to be submitted as soon as possible, and no later than the end of October. Also, Joe Poms stated that clubs should submit articles and photos as soon as possible, and Tony stated that without an ad, a club would be assessed $50.
