Minutes of January 11, 2013 Federation meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m. by President Tony Going. Tournament Director Al Purdy was not in attendance.
The following chapters were not in attendance: Bucketmouth Brigade; Clearwater; East Coast; Essex County; First Generation; Gloucester County; Greenback; K.O.B.A.; North Jersey Bass Anglers; United Bass Anglers and Warren County.
The Minutes from the October 12, 2012 Federation meeting were read by Vice President Mike Hart (since Secretary Nick Angiulo was collecting team rosters). The Minutes were accepted via motion/second.
Treasurer Forest Honeywell read the Treasury Report. The Treasury Report was accepted via motion/second.
The 2013 tournament schedule was read to the membership by Mike in Tournament Director Purdy’s absence.
Mike indicated that the Bass University has given the Federation tickets which are regularly priced at $199 but are on sale for $125.
Environmental Director P.J. Bartolotto indicated that Rutgers University has a bass club with 30 members and their members will participate in the Federation’s 2013 point tournaments as observers. He also stated that the Ramapo College team of Jeff Voss and Andy Zapf finished fourth at the 2012 Northern Regional event which will qualify them to fish in the 2013 FLW College Fishing National Championship.
Youth Director Dennis Foley indicated that the Riggin and Jiggin Junior Bassmasters will be holding Kids Casting events at the upcoming Raritan Outdoor Show.
President Tony Going asked for nomination of officers for 2013. No new nominations were made and Tony indicated that the 2013 officers would remain the same as 2012.
The presentations for Club of the Year were made by Jerry Rosenzweig, representing the Castaway Bassmasters, and Nick Albano, representing the Bergen Bassmasters. A vote of the clubs in attendance was taken and the winning club, by a vote of 8 clubs to 7 clubs, was the Castaway Bassmasters.
Member Marc Goldberg was nominated by member Mike Keller for 2012 Man of the Year.

Tony began a discussion explaining the Board’s reasoning about the 2013 tournament schedule and indicated by his hope that by having more events “closer to home,” more anglers would participate since their overall expenses should be lessened. Based on his comments the membership had a lengthy discussion about the pros and cons of the schedule, especially the scheduling of a point event directly after the Team Tournament.
The winner of the raffle for a Quantum rod was Marty Klapa. The Federation collected $120.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:21 p.m.
