October 2012 Minutes

Minutes of October 12, 2012 Federation meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:06 p.m. by President Tony Going. Vice President Mike Hart and Tournament Director Al Purdy were not in attendance.

The following chapters were in attendance: Big D; Blazin Bass; Castaway; Greenback; Jersey Giants; Limiters; Northern NJ; Over the Ridge; Quickfire; South Jersey Hawg Hunters.

Since there was not a quorum of clubs in attendance, Tony deemed the meeting legal.

President Going informed the members that Billy Loveland, a former Federation stalwart, recently passed away.

The Minutes from the September 14, 2012 Federation meeting were read by Recording Secretary Nick Angiulo. One correction was made to indicate that Kaz Dabrowski won the rod raffle. The revised minutes were accepted via motion/second.

The Treasury Report was read by Treasurer Forest Honeywell. The report was accepted via motion/second.

The Tournament Report was deferred based on Tournament Director Al Purdy’s absence.

Youth Director Dennis Foley reported that 16 kids participated in the Junior State Championship held at the end of September at Lake Picatinny. Joe Neville of the Riggin and Jiggin junior chapter won the 11-14 age group with 5 fish weighing 8.94 pounds and John Ladner of the Millennium Junior Bassmasters won the 15-18 age group with 5 fish weighing 11.84 pounds. They have qualified for the National Guard Junior World Championship to be held on the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana in August 2013. This will be John’s third trip to the Junior World Championship.

Tony indicated that Dave Frost and Nick Angiulo will be moving forward to the TBF National Championship based on their finishes at the recent Mid-Atlantic Divisional. They will be going to Grand Lake in Oklahoma in April 2013. Dave and Nick described their experiences. Dave qualified as the Boater and Nick qualified as a Co-Angler. Tony indicated that he was proud of the Team which came all the way back from last place on Day 1 to finish in third place in the event.

Nick introduced the 2012 Federation Angler of the Year, Rich McCrone, who was in attendance.

Environmental Director P.J. Bartolotto reported that the Ramapo College team of Joe Zapf and Jeff Voss finished fourth at the National Guard FLW Collegiate Northeast Regional event. This finish qualified the team for the National Guard FLW Collegiate National Championship in the spring of 2013. He also reported that Rutgers University has recently established a bass club and has 30 members. He will be contacting the club to try to get it affiliated with the Federation.

A drawing for a Quantum rod was held. The winner was Damon Winner. The drawing collected $58.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:44 p.m.
