Minutes of June 13, 2008 Federation meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:03 p.m. by President Tony Going. Tournament Director Al Purdy was not in attendance.

The following chapters were not in attendance: Bass Busters; Bass Kickers; Berkley; Bucketmouth Brigade; Cullin’ Bass Six; Gloucester County; Hawg Heaven; Jackson; Over the Ridge; Salem County; United; and Tri-State.

The Minutes from the May 9, 2008 Federation meeting were read by Recording Secretary Nick Angiulo. The minutes were accepted via motion/second.

The Treasury Report was read by Treasurer Jim Bartolotto. Jim indicated that all clubs are paid up and registered with the TBF. The Treasury Report was accepted via motion/second.

The Tournament Report was given by Secretary Bruce Stovall in Al Purdy’s absence. Bruce stated that everything for the Team Tournament was a go and if any clubs had changes, they could call Al during the week. Tony indicated that the Captain’s Meeting would be at 3 p.m. at the ramp on Wednesday, June 25, and that all pre-fishing had to be concluded by 2 p.m. on that day. After the Captain’s Meeting, at 5 p.m., a chicken dinner for all Federation members will be held at the pavilion in Ticonderoga. The dinner will be paid for entirely by the Federation. He stated a raffle would be held at the dinner, with all of the proceeds going to the USO. Included would be a trolling motor and assorted tackle. Executive Officer Forest Honeywell also indicated that six Great Adventure season tickets would be raffled off at the Team event. Tony stated that the 2007 tournament season awards would be given out at the dinner and the Team Tournament pairings draw would also be conducted at the dinner.

Tony stated that the TBF National Championship was aired on Fox Sports Net this past weekend. He stated that the TBF Nationals have gone very well since they have been run by the TBF.

Bill Smith, a representative of the Raritan Valley Bassmasters read a report of the recent fishing outing his club held for kids, which was filmed and will be aired at a later date. He indicated that approximately 100 kids participated and a good time was had by all. Information on the event can be found on the club’s website at www.raritanvalleybassmasters.com <http://www.raritanvalleybassmasters.com>. He asked the Federation for a $100 donation for holding this event. Tony thanked Bill for his club’s dedication, and indicated that once the report was submitted with photos from the event, the club would receive the $100 check.

Nick Albano gave an update of the October 13 Open Buddy Tournament to be held at Candlewood Lake for the benefit of the USO. He stated that a representative of the USO would be at the dinner at the Team Tournament to speak more about the event. He read the list of sponsors already secured, among which are “A Day on the Water” with anglers Mike Iaconelli, Pete Gluszek and Terry Baksay. He also stated that the event will be filmed by Mike de Avila, a representative of the show “Lunkerville” and will be aired on the World Fishing Network.

Nick also indicated that the Bergen Bassmasters recently held its 20TH annual Outing for the Disabled which was its usual success. He requested $200 on behalf of the Bergen/Metro Bassmasters for running this outing. Tony thanked Nick for his clubs’ dedication and indicated that once the report was submitted with photos from the event, the clubs would each receive a $100 check.

Secretary Stovall reminded clubs to try to get their club rosters in order early this year so the Federation can get the maximum amount of money for its membership from the TBF. Tony emphasized that in 2007, the Federation lost out on a significant amount of money.
Executive Officer Honeywell indicated that $100 was raised for the Youth Account based on the past month’s sale of Federation shirts and hats.

A drawing for a three pack of Lucky Craft Pointer jerk baits was held. The winner was by Bob Gilbert. The drawing collected $86.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 p.m.
