Member Joe Poms inquired about the Team Tournament. President Going responded that the dates of the team tournament were tentatively June 26 and June 27. He stated that the membership could select either Lake George or Lake Champlain (out of Ticonderoga). A role call vote was taken and the results were 18 votes for Lake Champlain; 4 votes for Lake George; and 2 abstentions.

Executive Officer Forest Honeywell stated that juniors Nicholas Goebel and Joe Morse recently competed in the TBF Junior National Championship in Arkansas in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup. He indicated that Joe finished first in the 15-18 age group and Nicholas was third in the 11-14 age group. He also said the event was very professionally held with each youth fishing with a professional and being brought up on stage for the weigh-ins. Forest also asked that the $500 donated by the Federation to the youth for the event be taken from the General Fund. There were no objections to this request.
President Going stated that the Board is looking into a new scale system that will help automate/speed up the weigh-in/payout process. He stated the Board has contacted the TBF to see what types of systems are available and the costs of such systems. Tony indicated that the Federation has two other scales that could be sold. He also stated that monies collected from the sales of various items (trolling motors/gps units/rods/etc.) would go towards the purchase of the new system.

Secretary Bruce Stovall talked about the Reel to Reel magazine and stated he had advertisement flyers. He mentioned that the ad prices on the flyers are from last year, and probably would not change but has not yet confirmed this with Mike Kozub. The ads need to be submitted as soon as possible, and no later than the end of October. Also, Joe Poms stated that clubs should submit articles and photos as soon as possible, and Tony stated that without an ad, a club would be assessed $50.

Tony stated that nominations for Vice President, Secretary and Executive Officer were needed. Mike Hart was nominated by the floor for Vice President; Bruce Stovall was nominated by the floor for Secretary; and Forest Honeywell was nominated by the floor for Executive Officer. All nominations were seconded. Since there was no more than one nomination per office; Tony stated that a roll call vote was unnecessary and had Bruce Stovall cast one vote for each nominee to end the election process.

Forest stated that he would like to purchase 35TH anniversary Federation hats to commemorate the Federation’s 35TH year. There were no objections and it agreed that 288 such hats would be purchased.

Joe Poms stated that on August 26 the Federation participated in the Cure Search fundraiser for kids with cancer. The event was at the Starlight Tattoo Car Show. Joe stated that he ran an adult and kinds casting event to raise money, and collected $68. He thanked Forest and Dorothy Honeywell, and Bob Gilbert for their assistance. Tony stated that the Federation would add an additional $200 donation to the $68 collected at the event.

Tony indicated that TBF the Mid-Atlantic Division was scheduled for the end of September on the Nanticoke River in Delaware. Member John Milchanowski, Sr., stated that he had heard complaints that the Divisional was the same date as the Federation Nation Divisional. Tony stated that the TBF date has been set for a year.
